Instagram is definitely my favorite social media site. Not only is it where I have the largest following for this blog, but it is where I get a lot of inspiration for design. I try to be strategic on who I follow because I actually enjoy scrolling through my feed and seeing peoples posts. I don’t want to fill my feed with lots of random people and businesses.
Here are a few Instagram pages I have been following that I really like.
The first is @nicolay.t. He has a very clean and organized Instagram page. He posts a lot of minimalistic photos of his work space and Apple products. I just love how clean and intentional his photos feel. He also runs the equally great page @beautyoftechnology where he shares similar photos.
The second is a little different from most of the pages I follow. I really like woodworking and many other traditional craftsmen like trades. I follow several really great woodworkers and in the last couple years rings made of wood have become quite popular. There are a lot of different styles and designs, but @secret.wood took the design of wood rings to a whole new level. The rings are handcrafted and made of wood and jewelry resin.
The last page I want to share is a designer that I find incredible because I am a mechanical engineer. @C.bathgate is an artist/machinist/sculptor. He makes sculptures out of metal. His designs are incredibly difficult to machine but they are unique and futuristic looking. I usually enjoy design and art that is a little more practical, but his page just blows me away every time he posts something new.
I am always on the lookout for new pages to follow. I would love it if you would share your favorite pages with me. Seriously, please tag me in a comment on your favorite pages!
