I love finding new designers that are creating fantastic work. That is really why I created this blog, to share designers, creators, makers, and businesses that are creating amazing gear. Ben Cramp is doing that with his furniture design company Jam Furniture. Ben has an amazing story that he tells in a short video on his My Story page. Ben worked as a product designer for 14 years before starting his furniture design business. His work as a product designer has given him the experience to create incredible furniture.

Ben’s style is truly remarkable. His designs are stunningly simple yet very unique. Many times when designers create simple designs they appear plain or boring. But Ben has the ability to bring out the beauty in the simple materials he uses. His passion is to work with wood that tells a story. His pieces show how he transforms wood with character into furniture that is modern and will last a lifetime.

The most recent addition to the Jam Furniture line is an outdoor fire pit. This fire pit is stunning. I love the unique design. It is made of 5 identical laser cut and folded plates of steel that are powder coated. The 5 plates are then bolted together to create a hexagon shape. It is such a clever design for an outdoor fire pit. The 5 legs gives it a very rugged and lasting appearance that is a great step away from the dainty bowl shaped fire pits you can normally buy.
