The things we use everyday are becoming increasingly smarter. More and more of our common, everyday devices are being connected with technology. We have smart homes that allow you to connect to your LED lights through your phone. You can set the temperature of your house from work. You can talk to your phone and say “Hey Siri” to make a request. This evolution of common everyday items being controlled with technology has just barely begun. And, the company Woolet has now connected your wallet with your phone. Woolet makes leather wallets that have an embedded technology to notify you if you accidentally leave your wallet behind. Or if you can’t seem to remember the last place you left your wallet, the app shows you where you last left your wallet and can let you ping the wallet so that it makes a chiming noise to help you find it hidden in your house. Woolet recently sent me their Woolet Brown wallet and I have enjoyed using and testing it the last couple weeks.
The Woolet Brown is made from natural brown calf leather and has a rugged and durable looking finish. The wallet is very lightweight and flexible. It can hold up to 10 credit cards plus has a hidden pocket. The cash pocket is quite large and can easily suit your banknote needs. Functionally, this wallet is solid and will satisfy your everyday needs. I personally found the wallet to be a bit bigger than I expected, but that is only because my current wallet is a micro-sleeve that only carries 4 cards and doesn’t have a full banknote pocket. Once I considered that my small wallet has biased my view, I realized that the Woolet is very much a standard size wallet.
Syncing the wallet to my phone was really straightforward. I downloaded the app and was able to connect to the wallet and configure the settings as I pleased. There are a lot of cool features that the app can do. The phone connects through Bluetooth to the wallet and when you leave your wallet behind your phone gives you a notification that your wallet was left behind. It also notifies you when you are near your wallet again when you go back to it. The app does allow you to set quiet zones incase you purposely don’t want any notifications in a certain area or building. One feature that I found helpful was I was able to pause notifications while I mowed my lawn. I had purposely left the wallet inside while I did some yard work and it quickly notified me that I left my wallet behind. I was easily able to pause notifications for the next hour while I finished working in my yard.
One of the most impressive parts of the Woolet wallet is that the battery will last for 6 months. I was initially concerned that I would have to charge my wallet every night, but it turns out that the technology used consumes very little power and will last for approximately 6 months. It can then be charged using any Qi wireless charging pad.
Overall I am really impressed with the Woolet. The technology is fantastic and easy to use. This wallet will truly save so much time, money, and headache for so many people. Woolet offers several different colors and finishes of wallets on their website. They also have a full line of products that include a charging pad and a key finder.
I know someone who loses their wallet a lot and could use one of these. Great review, Joshua.
Wow, great wallet. I think that I’ve found Christmas gift for my co-worker.
